The north island is spectacular scenery – rolling peaks dotted with sheep and cattle, winding roads through little villages. John and I breath in the beauty while the girls peacefully sleep . En route to Rotorura we have a rest stop at the Waikite Valley thermal pools. Three hot mineral pools ranging from 36-40 degrees. The sun is beating down on us and steam rises from the water. Too hot for Rebecca – she wants a cool swim but settles for a cold drink.
