After my cats pyjama adventure I headed off for the cathedral cove. This is a big cove that can be walked through when the tides are low. It was very nice. The weather started out cloudy but it cleared up when I got there. After the coves I moved over Tauranga.

Man this places stinks! Its a natrual therma thingy! Which means it has lots of holes in the ground full of gases, hot bubbling water and mud.

We made it to Rotorua later in the afternoon, we could see and smell the town before we got there. The steam and smell rises from the geothermal areas well above the town. Stopped at a park in the center of town and had acloser look at these interesting places.

Well, we arrived in Rotorua about an hour ago and it lives up to its name of the ’smelly city’. The smell of sulphur is certainly in the air, although it’s not as bad as I thought it might be.
