2 hour drive from home.

It felt like we were in the Alps.

After a 40 minute drive up trhe mountain, we finally arrived at Idyllwild. The weather was beautiful and kind of chilly.

We found a campsite where we dropped our tent and went on to the start of the trail…

As always, I had a hard time keeping up with Erin’s pace, only this time I could not blame my shoes ! I had to face the fact that Erin is in better shape than I am… I tried all the tricks in the book to slow her down: “look at the beautiful view Erin “, “I need some water”, “WAIT !”….

As we were climbing up the trail, I realised that my goal for the future would be to keep getting closer to nature, simple things like walking up a trail, admiring the mountains, the ocean, making time for your friends and the ones you love… You sometimes come to realise too late that you have missed out on all these things. I don t want that to happen to me.

Once we reached the top of the trail, we kept going until we found a rock on top of a small hill. We sat on it, had some food and relaxed there for a good hour. The sun was warming up my clothes and it felt like heaven once my head was resting on Erin’s legs, listening to the sounds of the forest, staring in the clear blue sky.

We made our way down as soon as the sun disappeared behind the clouds as it suddenly got a lot colder. It took us half the time to go down. We stopped several times to jjhjhjh
