Port Clinton
Travel Location: Port-Clinton,Australia
Set up camp at Port Clinton, Robert and Elaine, the caravan park managers were great, made us feel right at home.
On the 5th, Renee and Cam and kids joined us in the camp trailer, mum and dad joined us on the 7th. Very happy to see them all.
Two things about the place, one, the tide went out nearly a km., i think, and then right up to the small beach. The locals used tractors to launched their boats, driving them out to meet the water. Sam went out crabbing in the low tide with some boys, other people caught Razor fish which are large shell fish. The second thing was the very strong winds that lasted days and then suddenly stopped so we could use the kayaks in the calm water. Dad enjoyed the zodiac, we went out in it a few times, when the tide was in and the sea was calm enough, a bit challenging some days.
Renee and Cam, Brett and I and kids went for a drive around the Yorke Peninula towns one day, dropping in at Port Victoria for fish and chips and walking along the jetty. Another day we went to the Barossa, pizza at Tununda and tea on the ship replica in Glenelg.
The kids all had fun. The playground close by and the local swimming pool at the top of the caravan park. They also went out on the kayaks and Zodiac and walked out across the endless sands.
Renee and Cam went on the 13th, bugger.
Dad and I whet for a few walks with Toby and mum and I sat on the beach while mum feed the seagulls or talked over coffees that I had in their van nearly every morning. Mum and dad left on the 21st, we wont see them for quite a while, but will hopefully catch up somewhere in NT. We left on the 22nd after a stuff up with a parcel.
Said our goodbyes to Robert and Elaine and other people who took pictures of the van as we hooked on and went.
