Majorca/Mallora
Travel Location: Majorca,Spain
For this weekend Keith, Rachel, and I went to Mallorca and stayed at Keith’s aunt’s piso. It was a nice weekend. Except for the first day, the weather was mostly perfect except that it got cold at night. Everyday we were able to visit a different part of the island everyday. We stayed in Palma di Mallorca, and then visited Soller, Valdemossa, Porto Christo and Pollenca.
Soller and Valdemossa were a bit boring. We went there because we were able to take this old fashioned train that had a scenic ride. Then there was a scenic bus ride along the coast from Soller to Valdemossa. We almost got stranded in Valdemossa, because we missed the last bus to Palma. Thankfully we were able to take a bus back to Soller and eventually back to Palma.
Porto Christo was the best. We went to go see the caves which was pretty cool. They were huge and there was this really big lake as well. On the lake they had musicians row out on boats and play music for us. Then we were able to take a boat ride to the other side of the lake. It was nice, but a bit scary. Afterwards we went to the beach. Unfortunately we didn’t go swimming, because we figured we would go swimming the next day when we are more prepared (turned out being to cold the next day). The weather was perfect and the ocean was gorgeous.
In Pollenca, we climbed a mountain and had lunch at the top with a bonfire which was cute. We walked around and it was a nice city. We went to teh Port which was pretty as well.
In Palma, it’s a nice city but a bit boring. The Cathedral is absolutely gorgeous. Other than that the city is ehh. I wasn’t too into the island, because it reminded me of Florida which I’m not too fond of. I’ve noticed that I’m not too into those tropical areas.
