Finally here…
Travel Location: Vancouver,Canada
After a very very long (whingy) plane ride, we arrived safely at Vancouver, (without Trumble killing Hannah!).
Upon arrival to Canada, we were greeted by the very friendly face of long lost friend Amy Kilpatrick. We ventured into Vancouver and our adventures began from there. We spent the first day touring the city, very similair to Melbourne but a bit sleepy. Lots of homeless people but they generally left us alone. Went down into Gastown, very picturesque, especially when the gas lamps are lit up at night. Views over to Grouse mountain were ‘awesome’ (Canadian accent…) Had the great idea of going to China town for dinner, didn’t make it more than a block. Not the same as Melbourne’s Chinatown, possibly still establishing itself, around drug deals. Kinda scary…
Think Hannah even smiled!!!
The three of us hired bicycles and rode around the beautiful Stanley park. Trumble forgot his gloves and still can’t feel his fingers. The park has spectacular views overlooking the water, the city and the mountains. Saw a few sea planes landing, and explored the Native Canadian history (totem poles etc)
Caught a bus up to Whistler, to their first snowfalls in three weeks. We brought 35cm with us overnight…Unbelievable. Think Hannah even smiled!!! Has been very cold and snowed for two days and nights! Temp approx -12C in the village (toasty really!)
After some ‘disasters’ (well Hannah Disasters!) with the busses, losing tickets, losing Amy, and Trumble almost losing his mind we have had a much improved day today. Today we have been iceskating on Amy’s split shift and seen some more of Whistler village!
Until next time SNAP (stupid Canadian term we’re adopting – unsure what it means)
Hope all is well with everyone xxoo
