Day 46 – Rainbow Beach to Toowoomba

Today’s drive takes us to the country town of Toowoomba. We drove along the coast and stopped for lunch at the sunshine coast. Toowoomba is located about an hour drive west of Brisbane. After settling into a camping ground, we were about to meet a friend that moved a year ago here from Sydney. The town is quite big with a population of 100,000 and is located in the hills. Despite the widespread residential locations, the city centre is quite manageable by foot. We walked to town to Cub Hotel where we had a drink just around 5 pm. We were pretty much the only ones at that time. Later in the evening we moved on to the Irish Pub (there seems to be one in every town). The food was good and we enjoyed a nice evening.
